DESCRIPTION: Folk Art wall clock, large, well made oak case with gabled facade, incised line carving, ogee and astragal moldings, and hinged access panel for pendulum with applied, carved hourglass, and also carved "Improving The Time", top with brass finial, Roman numeral paper dial, spade and poker hands, 8 days spring driven, timepiece movement by Ansonia, case dated in pencil on back, 1882
CONDITION: good overall, some separation at case joints, minor scratches and chips, back of case top relieved to fit around a cornice molding or other architectural detail, minor paint residue, dial dirty, with rippled surface and losses, hands dirty, painted gold, movement ticks, Ht 36" with finial.
